What are My Spiritual Holy Spirit Gifts?

alt="find SPIRITUAL GIFTS"

How to find your spiritual gifts?   Spiritual gifts can seem mysterious to a believer, who hasn’t had a lot of teaching on the topic. I was fortunate enough to have received the Lord, during what was called “The Spiritual Renewal.”  Our little fellowship was on fire for God and evangelism, and the gifts of the spirit were in full operation.  Healing and miracles took place when the members prayed.  Deaf were healed, the crippled threw away their canes and walking sticks, people were delivered from afflictions, and sinners were coming to the Lord regularly.  We had what was called a body ministry.

Pastors that Encourage the Flock to Use their Gifts.

Our Pastor encouraged everyone to use their gifts and spiritual abilities.   I often find it frustrating to see a congregation where all the ministry comes from the pulpit.  I feel the people are being robbed of the experience of being used by God.  2 Corinthians 4:7 (KJV) – But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Every summer Joy Fellowship Church had a school of evangelism, and one of the teachings was always on the gifts of the spirit. How glad I am to have been placed at the right place, at the right time.   In our small ministry, the gifts of healing, prophecy, tongues, and interpretation, faith, and miracles happened on the regular. When each member yields to the Holy Spirit, the gifts will flow effortlessly, meeting the needs of those present.

God is not Hiding Knowledge from Us

God does not hide things from us, the mysteries of God, are available for His children, to learn more about him and His kingdom.  In 1Corinthians 15:51,52, He pulls you aside to tell us about the mystery of the Rapture… Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

God says, Hey! Behold! Look at this! Does this sound like He is trying to keep secrets from us? The answer is no; God is not trying to hide spiritual truths from us. He wants us to flow in his God-given gifts of the Holy Spirit!  The Bible tells us each one of us is given a spiritual gift or gifts. Romans 12. I Corinthians 2 Peter 4 Ephesian 4. We become aware of the gifts of the spirit through his word. Do not let anyone tell you they are not for today because they are!

How to Find your Spiritual Gifts?

If you want to find your spiritual gifts are, look for spiritual affirmation. Where is God asking you to serve? God will lead you to where your gifts can be developed. Is it teaching, encouraging, preaching?   Look for affirmation from the church, but don’t solely depend on it. You can have an amazing call on your life, yet never be confirmed, license, or ordained by your spiritual leader.

You will learn by education and experience. You do not need to have a minister’s license or ordination to operate in the gifts the Lord has given to you. Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and when you feel lead to pray for someone, or you believe God has given you a word from the Lord, step out and give it to them.  Pray

How to Get Started

Pray for your friends, pray for your family, pray for the sick! You will begin to receive words of wisdom or words of knowledge for the one you are praying for.  When I was learning to pray for others, I found it best to say, “I believe the Lord is saying, or I believe the Lord is showing me.”  They will confirm if what you are saying is accurate.  The more accurate you become, the more confident you will become.  Eventually, you will know without a doubt when theLord is speaking to you, or instructing you to pray or speak to someone.  God bless you, as you step out in faith to obey God!

  1. I like that you directed your readers to search for their spiritual gifts by seeking affirmation. A lot of spiritual gifts are known intuitively and must be practiced or listened to. If one is not open to seeing them and feeling how they can change, they just simply won’t be noticed!

    1. Thanks, Luke for taking time to comment. Many time we know God is working through us and that we have a gift. Direction and guidance is also very helpful to help u stay on track. Practice is the only way to develop your gift. Just step out and do it! If they won’t let you do it in your church, find a church that welcomes God’s precious gifts!
