This is what the LORD says: “A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation and bitter crying. Rachel is crying, and she refuses to be comforted for her children, because they are no longer alive.”  Jeremiah 31:15 ISV

A Story of Redemption

In 2 Samuel 11, you will find the story of King David. He committed adultery and then sent the woman’s husband to the front lines of batter to be killed.  He finally took responsibility for his sins he cried out to God…”Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight” There is nothing God will not forgive except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. God rejoices in our repentance and is anxious to forgive us when we repent.

“Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered” (Psalm 32:1).

God knows we are imperfect.  He knows we will stumble and fall.  God is also very merciful.   When you repent, He will forgive us and open his arms to embrace us once again.  He will heal us and set you free, emotionally, physically and spiritually.   Go to God and tell him that you are sorry for the abortion.  Ask God take away the emotional pain and lift the burden of guilt from you. He loves you and will answer your prayer.

The Devil is a Liar

Many women who have had abortions exhibit signs depression, anger, bitterness, and shame. Once God has forgiven you,  do not continue to condemn and punish yourself.  Once you have repented and asked Jesus for forgiveness, the enemy will try to bring condemnation and guilt to you again.  Do not receive his condemnation!  The Devil is a liar and what God has called clean, not one can call unclean.

Come against these attacks with the word of God.  Submit yourselves therefore to God.  Resist the Devil and he will flee from you.  James 4:7 .  However, those the Father has given me will come to me, and I will never reject them. John 6:37.  Believe His word and you will prosper.

You are his child and He has redeemed you by the precious blood of His son Jesus Christ!     Believe it!  Receive it!  Jesus died on the cross for your sin and it has been nailed to the cross with Jesus Christ. God’s Word is Yes, and Amen! 2 Corinthians 1:20.

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more. Hebrews 8:12 KJV

This is honoring your child as a living being and acknowledging this helps bring healing.  Many women who have had an abortion, need counseling, no matter how long ago it has been.  Most women keep this to themselves and continue to suffer in silence.

Abortion Stories

No names are used to protect the privacy of the women below.

Woman #1
Years ago, as a single woman, I became pregnant. Abortion was recently made legal and I terminated my pregnancy. I was an educated woman and did not have time for a child. Later I became pregnant but had two miscarriages. Thank God I later gave my life to the Lord and began living for God.  I found forgiveness for all my sins, including abortion. Unfortunately,  I never give birth to a child.  If I had known that was my only opportunity to become a mom, I would not have done it.

Woman #2
Before I came to the Lord I had two unwanted pregnancies. The first time I was using drugs, was scared confused and did not know what to do. My mother helped me with the process. Immediately after the abortion, I felt physically empty and sad.

My second abortion was different. I knew it was wrong but had a small child under two. I was afraid during this abortion.  A few months later I got saved.  However, I suffered depression, guilt, and anger for many years.  I constantly thought of my children and cried.  One day I received prayer for this torment and was set free. I still regret the abortions, but am free of guilt and condemnation!

Woman #3
A  family’s only daughter got pregnant as a teenager.  The father and mother were spirit-filled Pastors.  Against the Father’s will, the mother took the daughter to get an abortion.   I can not say why the decision was made.  Perhaps the mother felt it would be a spot on their ministry.  Maybe it was an added financial burden.  Possibility the mother did not want the responsibility of raising her teen daughter’s child.

What happens when a child turns to her Godly parents for help and they turn to the world for answers?  Needless to say, this young woman will experience much confusion and trauma, for the decision that was made for her.  She may also get pregnant again to replace the loss she felt from the previous abortion.  The mother is also accountable to God for her decision and must sincerely repent and seek forgiveness.

These are three testimonies all true. As you see, there are many faces of abortion.  All these accounts are terrible, but God is willing to forgive each account when forgiveness is sought.

If you need healing and forgiveness for an abortion, pray this prayer:

Healing Prayer:  Father I come to you to ask for forgiveness for aborting my child. I did not know or fully understand how wrong it was. I bind the lie of the devil that you don’t love me or forgive me.  I pull down the stronghold of depression, darkness, and despair, right now.  Jesus

Jesus come into my heart and take away this pain. Forgive me for all my sins.  Wash me, cleanse me and renew my heart, mind, and my joy. Father, I receive your forgiveness. I receive your love and I receive your Salvation. In Jesus name. Amen

Your confession of healing and deliverance is powerful! Let this be your daily confession until it believe it with all your heart.   I will not be condemned for my past.  Thank you, Father, I am forgiven and set free by the blood of Jesus Christ!
